Microsoft Windows, of course, the most popular OS in the world today. The latest release from Microsoft to their OS family is Windows 10. But still many of us use the previous versions of Windows such as Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or even the legendary Windows XP series.
Windows has a lot of features that we really don't know which exist. Some features are really familiar to us. I think no one outta here who doesn't know why CTRL+C is used for or the use of ALT+F4 in Windows. They are all shortcuts, which we use daily when operating a Windows computer.
Have you ever tried taking a screenshot on Windows or Do you know how to take a screenshot on a Windows machine? Well, if you don't know, continue reading, I will explain How to take a screenshot in a single click.
Sometimes you use the built-in Snipping Tool or Alt+Prt sc and then Paint to save your current screen, oops, that's a long process indeed. Opening the Snipping Tool, capturing the screen, saving it, oh, I am tired. Even your smartphone allows taking a screenshot in just a second, why can't Windows? Don't worry, there is a shortcut available on Windows 8 or higher versions to capture your screen in just a second. Unfortunately, this feature is not available on Windows 7 or lower versions. Windows 7 users have to use the Snipping Tool or Paint to save screenshots as mentioned above.
If you are running on Windows 8 or higher versions ( 8.1 & 10), you can easily capture the current screen by pressing the Windows key + Prt sc ( aka Print Screen) on your keyboard. The Windows key is just the Windows icon key on your keyboard, probably found in the last row of your keyboard next to your alt key.
The captured files are stored in PNG format in the Screenshots folder. You can locate the Screenshot folder in Windows Explorer. To do this; open Windows Explorer ( Computer/ My Computer by default) - Look for the folder named Pictures, open it and find the folder 'Screenshots'. If you have troubles in finding the path; look at the images below.
So, now you know how to easily capture screenshots on Windows. If you have troubles capturing screens, let me know in the comment section.
